Your wedding is special.
Thank you for checking St Peter's web site about your marriage. You
must be excited about the future. We wish you every happiness. We want your
wedding to be very special.
St Peter’s is a Christian church, not simply a wedding venue. If you
are wanting to be married here, you are asking God to bless your marriage. We
believe it is most appropriate for you to come to church regularly to understand
more about God. Also, your wedding is more special for you when you know the
minister, and when he knows both of you.
You are welcome to come to our Sunday services at 8am, 10am or 6pm.
Can another minister marry you here?
Some people have a friend or know a minister and would like that person to lead the service, instead of a minister from St Peter's.
If that minister is an Anglican minister, who is licensed to marry people, then it is possible.
If the person is not an Anglican, then they cannot lead the service in St Peter's, but they may be able to assist.
If you would like to have another minister involved in your service, then please contact Robert Denham (02 9482 7250).
The use of our Hall
It may be possible for a reception to be held in our hall. We have a commercial kitchen for your caterers. As church and Sunday School use the halls on Sundays, there are some time restrictions about when receptions need to be finished and the halls cleaned up and back to normal.
We want marriages to last
Every couple being married by a St Peter's minister is to attend the marriage preparation course. We want to help you have a lasting, happy, Christian marriage.
When your booking is confirmed we will advise you of the three evenings,
run by Rev Robert Denham. Many couples comment on how enjoyable and helpful
these evenings are.
Then about six (6) months before your wedding, we will advise you
of the date for an evening that will focus on your wedding service and things
like music, bows, confetti rules etc.
Have you been married before? The Anglican church has some requirements concerning getting re-married. If you are wanting to be married here by a St Peter's minister and either or both of you have been married before, then please contact Robert Denham (02 9482 7250). |
The cost for your wedding here depends on what you would like to include.
There is a fee of $300 for cleaning the church, the organist, the basic set
of flowers, wedding preparation and documents. If you want the choir to sing,
there is an extra cost. The minister does not charge for weddings.
If you are bringing your own Anglican minister with you, the cost to use St Peter's is only $100. Ask that minister if there are any other costs.
A deposit of $50 is payable when you hand in your application form. The remainder is due one (1) month before your wedding.
Talk with the minister about the cost of using the hall for a reception.
Refund policy: Should you have the unfortunate
experience of having to cancel your wedding, there is a $50 non-refundable portion
of your deposit. There is also a sliding scale of refunds, depending on how
many wedding course evenings you have attended.
You can pay by cash, cheque or postal order.
